More about me

I have always loved history and have a BA in the subject from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. After eight years in the museum world, I received a Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington to establish a professional groundwork for my editing business.
My content specialties include history and memorialization of the Holocaust; Pacific Northwest, Seattle, and general modern history; and curriculum development in Social Studies, ELA, and Genocide Studies. I have a deep passion for storytelling and believe in the power of personal narratives to foster hope and understanding.
I am the coauthor of a graphic novel for young readers, More Than Any Child Should Know and dabble in research projects such as the Online Biographical Dictionary of the Woman Suffrage Movement in the United States.
When not editing, I work part-time in nonprofit communications and do a lot of reading. I am a food and cooking aficionado and a baseball buff/long-suffering Mariners fan.
[Julia] not only flagged issues I would have never spotted on my own…but also made recommendations on things like character motivations, dialogue, and even pacing… I now find myself with a first chapter that I am truly proud of.
